Healthy Boundaries

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

Have you ever found yourself feeling overwhelmed? I am willing to bet that if you are a human being on planet earth.. you most certainly have. God worked so beautifully with us when He created our intricate "beings". We have a Spirit Self, an Emotional Self, a Physical Self ,and Mental Self and I promise you that all of my "selfs" occasionally demonstrate multiple personalities of their own.

Ultimately we were created to be good.. and our desire in our core is to be good and do good, and in our big feels.. we can get overwhelmed and blur the lines between what is a calling from God and what is God calling someone else to do.

We want to say "yes!" to those in need.. to the project in the community.. to the PTA.. to the friend in desperate need of a babysitter even though we are wilting under the heat of the pressure in our own lives.

The Truth is.. sometimes God IS calling us to make those extra strides... to make that sacrifice.. but if you are feeling overwhelmed.. it's possible you are saying too much yes to too many things. And.. if you are are saying yes to the wrong things.. it mean's you're saying no.. to the right things...

It's important to build boundaries.. don't deplete what was meant to be full of life and energy for the missions God has called you to.. for things that ultimately are stealing time away from the missions He has! Even Jesus had boundaries...

It's important to know when to say no.. or to simply take a step away..

Check out this fabulous Pod Cast from Jennifer Rothschild's 4:13 it really caught my attention. I love how she give us a "filter" to help us decide if we need to say no...
